Child of God - MAP IT: John 1:12

"Limitless Life" Week Three Memory Verse

Week Three of the Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study on Limitless Life by Derwin Gray focuses on Chapters 5 and 6 of the book. This week's memory verse is John 1:12 But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God.

My Verse Map

What this Verse Means to Me

Taking a deeper look at John 1:12 along with studying Chapters 5 and 6 of Limitless Life reinforces my understanding of God's love for us.  In Chapter 5, Derwin Gray uses the story of the woman at the well, found in John Chapter 4, to show how God can transform us by removing the label "Damaged Goods" and turning us into a "Trophy of Grace" when we drink the living water that Jesus has to offer.  What an awesome gift and privilege we are given!  As a child of God we are given an inheritance - eternal life. We just need to believe and accept it.

    1. Thank you, Mindy!

This is a quick explanation on what I did:
I used Publisher to create my verse map, I think Word would also work. (I chose Publisher because it allows you to easily save it as a picture) I added all of the text in text boxes and set the text wrapping to none so that I could overlap the boxes to make them fit. i.e. the main verse is in one text box and the definitions, other verses, and personalization are each in separate text boxes.

I used lines on the shapes menu to map the key words to their definitions. In other verse maps, I have also mapped the key words in other verses with lines but that can tend to get a bit busy looking so I opted not to do that this time.

I looked up definitions on merriam-webster.com and I used biblehub.com and biblegateway.com to find verses that related to this scripture verse and included the other words I had highlighted.

Hope that answers your question! If not just let me know.
