God's Servant - Map It: Colossians 3:23

"Limitless Life" Week Five Memory Verse

Week Five of the Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study on Limitless Life by Derwin Gray focuses on Chapters 9 and 10 of the book. This week's memory verse is Colossians 3:23. This is a long-time favorite verse for me.

What this Verse Means to Me

In Chapter 9 in Limitless Life, Derwin Gray points out that we we made to worship by God's design, in other words "everything we do and say is the product of worship."  As I mentioned above, this verse has been a favorite of mine for quite a while and I have tried to live my life to honor God. Not always successfully, but I am a work in process. :) When I am successful in living my life this way, I am always blessed and I can be a blessing to others.

As a part of the study this week we were challenged to write a vision statement for our life. The following is what I came up with:

To be a loving, caring servant of God, allowing God's light to shine through me while utilizing my gifts and talents to serve God and others.

Lift My Life Up by Unspoken has become one of my favorite songs.

What this Verse Means to Me

In Chapter 8 of Limitless Life titled From Purposeless to Purposeful, Derwin Gray says we are here to be loved by God. This verse demonstrates how much God loves me. He is in my midst or the center of me, He rejoices over me with shouts of joy, and He remembers my sins no more! My job: to live as a Beloved Child of God and allow God's love to flow through me. :D

Child of God - MAP IT: John 1:12

"Limitless Life" Week Three Memory Verse

Week Three of the Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study on Limitless Life by Derwin Gray focuses on Chapters 5 and 6 of the book. This week's memory verse is John 1:12 But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God.

What this Verse Means to Me

Taking a deeper look at John 1:12 along with studying Chapters 5 and 6 of Limitless Life reinforces my understanding of God's love for us.  In Chapter 5, Derwin Gray uses the story of the woman at the well, found in John Chapter 4, to show how God can transform us by removing the label "Damaged Goods" and turning us into a "Trophy of Grace" when we drink the living water that Jesus has to offer.  What an awesome gift and privilege we are given!  As a child of God we are given an inheritance - eternal life. We just need to believe and accept it.

What this Verse Means to Me

Looking in depth at this verse and studying Chapter 3 of Limitless Life has helped me to understand God created me and through faith in Jesus He renews me as I go through the trials of life and helps me to become His masterpiece. Through Him, my life can be transformed from a Mess to a Masterpiece! God had a plan for me before He created the universe. This means I have a purpose. If I choose to follow Him and do the good things He planned for me, I will be blessed as He works through me.

"Limitless Life" Week One Memory Verse

I am participating in Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study on "Limitless Life" by Derwin Gray. One of the bible study tools I have learned and come to enjoy is verse mapping. This is my verse map for the memory verse for Week One.

Digging in to the memory verse by personalizing it, highlighting and defining words that stand out to me, looking at different versions for additional understanding, and looking for cross reference verses adds an additional level of depth for the memory verse.

My first blog post. :D
